Evocation Adept

Prerequisite: Level 4+

Increase your Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma score by 1, to a maximum of 20.

You learn a cantrip and a level 1 spell of your choice, both from the evocation school of magic. You always have the spell prepared and can cast it using any spell slots you have. Your spellcasting ability for these spells is the ability improved by this feat.

In addition, your mastery of evocation magic grants the following benefits:

  • Explosive Casting.

Your evocation magic shoots from you with explosive power. When you use a spell slot to cast a ranged evocation spell that deals damage, you can choose to emit a burst of energy that deals 1d4 damage to all creatures within 5 feet of you. This damage is of the type dealt by your spell.

  • Reflected Evocation (1 / Day).

Redirect the magic of your enemies. When you are dealt damage by an evocation spell, you can choose to absorb a sliver of that energy and weave it into your next casting. The next time you use a spell slot to cast an evocation spell that deals damage, the spell's damage is increase by 1d6 per level of the spell slot you used. This extra damage is of the type you suffered to trigger this ability. If your spell causes multiple targets to take damage, only one target suffers this extra damage. The energy dissipates after one minute if it is not used. Once you use this ability, you cannot do so again until you complete a Long Rest.
